Kayaking in backwaters of Sambhavi River

Kayaking in backwaters of Sambhavi River

Oh Boy! What an Experience of kayaking in backwaters of Sambhavi river. I was doing Kayaking for the first time, I had an awesome time and made some lifetime memories. I had spent 2 great days at Mulki – Mangalore doing Kayaking.

I went with the Bangalore AdvenTurers (BAT) group and we had coordinated with KayakBoy for Kayaking. The trip was well organized, we stayed in tents had amazing local food prepared by aunties.

We went for kayaking during the day and in the evening we did campfire and played dumb charades, ankatakshari and also many people narrated horror stories 😀

I can say the Kayaking in backwaters of a Sambhavi river in the early morning and in the evening was the best and surreal experience. As the climate is peaceful and calm you can enjoy more, you also get a chance to see the flock of birds and evening fishermen laying the nets for the catch.
Here is how I describe the morning and evening scene of kayaking in Backwaters of Sambhavi river.

My evening Kayaking experience on backwaters of Sambhavi river

I can see the magnificent sun setting down, looking to flocks of birds going to their nest and making beautiful shapes in the sky. While crickets are chirping and water is slowly hitting my kayak. There’s a soothing magical sound of the water that can’t be found anywhere else. The river bank is surrounded by mangroves trees. The sky is turning into a fiery color and warm sensation splashed onto my face. A calmness flew by with the wind making my heart stop for a second. Finally, the sun disappeared along with its shine and stars popped out into the black night.
You won’t believe this beauty is such a well-kept secret.

Highlights of Kayaking Trip
  • Apart from first time Kayaking experience, I enjoyed the stay in the tents. We have been provided a good quality 1 person tent (Quechua tent).
  • The food prepared by locals was finger licking, I vaguely remember the taste of it. I will definitely go on this trip, especially for food. 😛
  • The third thing which I didn’t expect was the beautiful turquoise blue Mantra beach. I enjoyed floating on the beach.
