Hello Friend!
Do you know which is the RED planet in our Solar System?
Yes, Mars.
okay so, Which planet has the highest mountain in our solar system –– a volcano called Olympus Mons. Standing a whopping 24 kilometers high, it’s about three times the height of Mount Everest!
yes, you guessed it correct it is on Mars 😉
This week was all about Mars and Perseverance Rover. Perseverance launched successfully on 30th July 2020 with little hick-ups. Right now it is cruising towards MARS, will land on Jezero Crater on Mars on 18th February 2021.
The first flyby of Mars on 15 July 1965 was by Mariner 4 by NASA and First Lander on Mars was Mars 3 lander by Soviet Union, soft-landed on 2 December 1971. The first partial image (70 lines) was transmitted. Contact lost 14.5 seconds after transmission start. We have never stopped ever since then.
I am excited about Perseverance rover mission because it will seek signs of ancient life and collect rock and soil samples for a possible return to Earth. Which is in itself is Huge challenge and success in human history. Another thing is it is the building block of future Human Expedition to Mars mission. Just thinking about this makes me excited.
Did you know…? There are bits of Mars here on Earth! In the past, asteroids hit the Red Planet, sending debris into space. Some of this debris landed on our planet as meteorites.

And yes, I almost forgot, we have just got our hands on this beautiful beast from Celestron.
I and Abhi(my husband) are very excited to explore the night sky and also look at the Orion nebula. I will share night sky images on my Instagram, so make share you check my Instagram here.
My Favourite Things this Week
Video : Inside the Martian Colony We Made on Earth (ft. Yes Theory)
I was blown away by just the idea of the other Biosphere on earth. Here Alex shares her experience of her visit to Biosphere 2. This experiment was thought up in the 1980s when the conversation about space travel was becoming more than just science fiction. A group of eccentric innovators using advanced technology recreated key ecosystems in this artificial habitat. In 1991, 8 people were sealed into this man-made atmosphere for a 2-year experiment to test if space colonization was possible using this method.
Book : The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw
I am hooked to this book, it is an easy-going book with the humor of school-going kids. It is so funny how Greg thinks of the people around him. If you are not into reading and want to start reading I would suggest getting started with this book. Its a glue!
It is for both children and adults. So go and get your copy.
Video : Living Your Dreams And Telling Your Parents About Them! | Ft. Vidya Balan
I just love to watch Vidhya Balan on-screen and Love to listen to Prajakta Koli. they both are best at what they do and in this video, they talk about how they have shared their dreams with their parents and how they have been following what they do the best. Despite the virtual fame, the industry has given them they are thankful to their parents who forced them to complete the studies.
